Health Camps

Various health camps are organized at regular intervals which are seasonal/need-based to meet the specific needs of the community and to deliver medical services to remote areas. The camps also provide for timely referral services to the patients for further or specialized care. A total of 20,000 patients are treated at the camps every year on an average.

  • General: This is a screening camp organised regularly as per the route map planned in coordination with the village health committees.
  • Gynaecological care: Considering the poor state of women’s health in rural areas, gynaecological camps are organised to encourage women to seek medical aid for their reproductive health and well-being. Adequate pre-camp activities like IEC activities, involving the grassroot level functionaries like the MPWs, community mobilisers, school teachers, Anganwadi and Female Health Workers are undertaken. Services are sought from practicing women gynaecologists to encourage women to discuss their problems. Couples counselling, adolescent girls training, and other educational activities are also undertaken.
  • Cataract detection: Eye check-up and cataract detection facility is also provided to the rural populace for early detection and referral services thereafter and support for surgery if needed.
  • HIV/AIDS–awareness & testing camp: Creating awareness by providing information about HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases to the vulnerable population of truckers and single male migrant laborers, pregnant women, persons suffering from addiction of alcohol, tobacco, smoking etc. testing camps are organized.
  • Blood donation: To promote the concept of voluntary blood donation and seek participation of people and to remove myths surrounding the activity, camps are organized.
  • Specialty & Multi-specialty camps:  In addition to the above mentioned camps, the Foundation also holds Specialty & Multi-specialty camps, where specialist doctors of various branches assemble, benefitting a lot of patients. Due information is made available in advance, so that maximum number of patients benefit.
  • Financial aid for urban & rural poor patients for chronic and severe illness: Adani Foundation provides medical assistance for major diseases like, neurological problems, heart problems, kidney problems, stroke and paralysis, cancer etc. to the people from the disadvantaged and economically weak sections of society. Financial help is extended for treatment requiring surgery, dialysis, and hospitalisation. The Foundation has tied up with the chemists to provide medicines to the patients free of cost. Under the Swasthya Sahayata Scheme, medical assistance is provided to the Adani employees from lower cadres.
  • Health awareness programs: The community outreach programmes are undertaken by conducting health awareness campaigns to make people aware about their role in the prevention of several diseases and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.


Mundra block of Kutch district in Gujarat is situated on the coastline. Due to salinity and TDS being high in water, occurrence of Kidney stone is higher too. As a solution to this situation in question, the Foundation has started a project for Kidney stone diagnosis and treatment. In this regard, Adani Foundation organizes camps and offers services for diagnosis, treatment, operation and medicines to the patients of Mundra block suffering from urinary stone. A project for patients, who needs dialysis, has also been initiated so that poor patients can receive the treatment at concessional rates in the nearby, well-equipped hospitals. The main objective of providing dialysis treatment is to help the extremely poor and needy patients live a healthy life.


Realizing the dire statistics of the youths getting addictive, a de-addiction camp has been organized at Hazira, Gujarat, under which various activities have been carried out.


  • Poster Exhibition: As part of our initiative “Healthy Hazira Wealthy Hazira” Adani Foundation designed 75 posters on de-addiction. A total of 3025 youth of the community participated in the event.
  • Street-Play on de-addiction: It was completely an awareness program targeting community at large especially youth.  Ten students from class 9 & 11 of Navchetan Vidhyalay- Junagam participated in street plays. Total 3500 villagers were impacted through this initiative.
  • Rehabilitation: Youths from villages of the region who were addicted have been sent to Parivartan Trust for Rehabilitation. 


De-addiction awareness programmes have been conducted in 12 villages of Tiroda, Maharashtra. The objective of this programme has been to create awareness among villagers about the problem of addiction, motivate villagers for aborting addiction and create awareness about the impact of addiction.  Street plays have also been performed in villages to create awareness amongst villagers.


Facilitating Community Health initiatives for the rural and remote populace in Kamuthi, Tamil Nadu, the Foundation conducts Health Camps under Project ' Ahas - Doctor on Wheels' at regular intervals. This is to meet the specific needs of the community and deliver medical services in the remote locations of the vicinity area. Around 950 villagers including adult and children have been given free of cost treatment and medicine under these medical Camps.

To help the senior citizens with their health care requirements and timely help, a special Senior Citizen Healthcard Scheme has been initiated.

SuPoshan aims to free young children, adolescent girls and women in reproductive age from the clutches of malnutrition and anaemia.
